Turkey Time!

Best wishes for a happy Thanksgiving holiday for one and all, and let’s not forget to offer a special “thank you” to all of our brave military personnel all over the world who serve this great Nation and keep watch over all of us every day.

On to the triple header…

Green Bay -10.5 At Detroit 48

The Lions won a 38-37 thriller last week against the horrid Browns, but it looked as if Stafford suffered a shoulder injury just before throwing that winning TD pass. He and Calvin Johnson may both be out, so things don’t bode well for the boys in Honolulu Blue. The last time the Lions gave the Pack a real fight on Thanksgiving was 1962, for cryin’ out loud. In recent years, the only “tradition” about this game is the Lions getting routed. The Pack have had decisive wins in the past two weeks and look like they’ve turned things around and have a shot for a Wild Card berth. If the O-Line continues to improve, they’ll have a holiday feast in Detroit.

Projected Final Score: Green Bay 34, Detroit 17

At Dallas -13.5 Oakland 40.5

The Cowboys’ offense has been brutal in their last two games, so with a national audience watching (and dozing) they’ll want to put forth their best effort. The Raiders are coming off a big upset win at home last week, but (with a short week and travel) they’ll be in a rough spot here. Dallas needs to put forth a balanced attack to dominate, which they should seeing as the Raiders are poor against the pass and downright awful against the run. Look for the Cowboys to get their act back in gear.

Projected Final Score: Dallas 27, Oakland 13

NY Giants -6.5 At Denver 42

The NFLN Thursday game closes out the holiday festivities as the G-Men go Mile High with the plummeting Broncos. Last week, the Broncos lost their fourth straight as it appears that the rest of the League caught onto whatever magic McDaniels and Orton were working in their first six games. The Giants had a hard fought OT with Atlanta last Sunday and now that Manning appears healthy, look to keep that momentum going into the stretch drive. Denver’s defense has collapsed during this losing streak and it sure seems like that horse has left the barn. On offense, Orton is banged up and the offense will need to rely heavily on Moreno. That may just be too much pressure to put on the rookie’s shoulders.

Projected Final Score: NY Giants 24, Denver 17
