Week 17 Kickoff

NY Giants -2 At Washington 42.5

There will be no glamour tonight down in Old DC, just a couple of weary combatants gasping as they near the finish line. The Capitol is in mourning; though it’s apropos that a football game’s being played in Washington at the same time the State Funeral is occurring for President Ford (an old All-American lineman at Michigan). The Giants have a breath of life remaining, though it’s hard to see them going anywhere after this week. Meanwhile, the ‘Skins have nothing to lose and will let it fly one last time. How is it that a team so beset by injury and dissension still has a chance at the playoffs? Instinct suggests that the team who has the opportunity to make the dance will somehow dig deep and find whatever it takes to win. If somehow the Giants get into the tournament most likely Coach Coughlin is safe for another season. If the Giants don’t show up or play uninspired, there will be a new coach leading the G-Men in '07.

Projected Final Score: NY Giants 23, Washington 20.
