After 15 weeks, your fearless prognosticator now sits in a third-place tie with the CBS.SportsLine.com experts, only a mere three games out of second and seven games from the lead with two weeks remaining in the tournament. It appears that the two leading "experts", had a rougher week than your clueless forecaster. There were some big disappointments this week; that’s for sure. The beer is nearly gave away their game against Tampa Bay in the fourth quarter. Seattle was downright awful against the 49ers. And while the Saints letdown was not entirely unexpected, they had a real good chance of running the table, going into the playoffs. And what’s with Jacksonville on the road, anyway?
In terms of wins, the Patriots had a nice victory against Houston, but it may have come at a big price. It looks like Kevin Faulk is down and maybe gone for the year. So the Patriots hit the road for the next two weeks banged up. Buffalo really played well at home against Miami, and the Jets had no difficulty at all with the hapless Vikings. And even though I want with the wrong team, you have to like what the Eagles are doing with Jeff Garcia at the helm. It would be quite a feather in his cap as well as Coach Reid’s if Philadelphia makes the playoffs. Indianapolis and San Diego performed about as expected. If you asked me right now, at this point in time, I have to tell you that it would be a Chargers – Bears Super Bowl.
Talk with you before Thursday’s matchup.
