Wrexham v Chesterfield: Oct 2, 2007

Roscoe tuned into Tuesday match with Chesterfield full of optimism after the Dragons’ victory on Saturday. It didn’t take long for his rosy disposition to sour, for within the first fifteen minutes Chesterfield had already scored three times en route to an embarrassing 4-nil drubbing of Wrexham at the Racecourse Ground. Chris Llewellyn returned to the lineup after suspension while first-teamers Michael Proctor remained out on suspension as well as Silvio Spann and Eifion Williams, who were also out with injury.

Chesterfield features Adam Rooney and Jack Lester up front, and these two quickly worked in tandem to silence the hometown crowd. Lester hit in the 6th minute while Rooney scored in the 14th. A minute later, Lester hit again, and for all practical purposes the match was over. Roscoe was so disgusted by the Dragons’ pathetic showing that he’s handing the rest of the report over to the lads at Red Passion to fill in all of the awful details. On Friday, Wrexham travels to mid-table Accrington-Stanley, and they better show up this time.
