Marquise Hill

The world lost a fine young man over the Memorial Day weekend. He wasn’t particularly noteworthy for his achievements as a professional football player, but more so for the things he did off the field. A New Orleans native, Hill did much to alleviate the suffering and tragedy that accompanied Katrina. In the Boston area, he volunteered on several community projects that made a big difference in the lives of ordinary folks. While we can question the wisdom of not wearing a floatation device while participating in water sports, reports indicate that his last act was to insure the safety of the woman who accompanied him. It is of little consolation to his son, fiancé and his legion of family and friends, yet in the “game” of life Marquise is a champion and a true hero.

Rest In Peace.
