It was a pretty solid week all the way around, as there were a lot of close games and luckily we chose correctly on most of them. Now it’s on to Week 11 and another try to get back on top in the standings.

Week 11 Thursday Night:

At New England -3 NY Jets 40

It’s once again time for the semi annual tilt between Rocky & Clubber in another NFL Network extravaganza. As all “boxing” fans remember, Clubber nearly caved in Rocky’s skull in their first bout before a leaner, meaner Rocky regained the title the next time around. The Patriots had a fairly easy time of things with the Jets in Week 2 but the relevant question is which team will be the champ or the chump this time? The Jets come to Foxboro on the heels of an absolute humiliation of St. Louis on Sunday. The game was essentially over midway through the second quarter as everything went their way. Favre really didn’t have to do a whole lot against the Rams and still his team put 47 points on the board. After a performance like that, there’s nowhere to go but down, as Mangini would be the first to admit. But the Patriots won’t be taking anything for granted, as they’re down yet another starter on defense. They can’t go into this with the expectation that Mr. Gunslinger has an off night, as no one really knows how well Favre will perform. While the media focus will be on the marquee names, the real battle will be in the interior lines. The Patriots will need to be at the top of their game to prevail, and it may be the case that all of the accumulated injuries become one too many to remain competitive. New England really doesn’t have a running game of which to speak (notwithstanding Green-Ellis' 100+ yard game against Buffalo’s Swiss cheese D-Line). The Jets have Kris Jenkins, who will plug anything between the tackles. The Jets also have a better defensive backfield, with Revis really coming to the fore in recent weeks. Old friend Ty Law has even signed on for a second tour in the Green & White, and is expected to get some reps on Thursday. The Patriots’ D had a pretty good day against Buffalo, so it’s highly unlikely that the Jets won’t have a banner night offensively. The problem is that the Patriots’ offense isn’t what it was. True, Cassel appears to play with more poise each week, but his options against the Jets are more limited because the NYJ have a terrific run defense. It will be tough for Cassel to mix things up in the passing game. It just may be the Jets’ night...

Projected Final Score: NY Jets 21, New England 17
