They not only have the short week but also lost a day’s prep due to their attendance at Taylor’s funeral service on Monday. In the NFL, there are no excuses. Similarly, there are no excuses for the manner in which the Bears gift-wrapped a victory to the Giants last week. No one with a conscience could blame Coach Gibbs for the gaffe that made transformed the winning last-second field goal from a challenge to a chip shot. Even with all of the emotional turmoil on the team, they’re still better than the Bears and have all the right reasons to continue the fight.
