To those among you who are foolish enough to wager your hard-earned money on the outcome of professional football games, you very likely have a lighter wallet on Monday. That’s why the picks done here are for “fun and amusement only”, with a small measure of trying to compete with the big dogs as well. Some weeks you win or lose or (as occurred this week) get utterly humiliated. Gotta get back up on the horse and give it a go next time; that’s all.

Whether a team wins or loses these days is not only dependent on preparation but also health. Considering the fact that the Cardinals were down to their third-string quarterback, and at one point of the game the Panthers were down to their fourth-stringer now you know why the house always wins. Vinny Testaverde was the winning quarterback this week! David Carr was in diapers (aged two) when Vinny was cutting his teeth in the NFL.

Another week, another laundry list of injuries pop up on the radar screen. Vince Young went out early in the second half with a leg injury and the Titans were toast. Kerry Collins was an ok quarterback when? Kurt Warner went out with a non-throwing elbow injury, and Tim Rattay had to take over.

Week 6 Game Balls:
Adrian Peterson, Minnesota
Jacksonville
NY Giants
New England

San Diego: Let us know when you’ve beaten a team with a winning record, then the world will determine whether you’ve crawled out of the pit...Dallas: The players allegedly hated Parcells because he was a hardass. So, Slick brought in “Son Of Bum” to create a more player-friendly atmosphere. The result of this laid back approach has been a lack of discipline. The Cowboys committed 12 penalties in the game, and that was their undoing. That would never have occurred on Tuna’s watch. The “battle of the 81’s” was pretty much a wash as both caught six passes and scored a touchdown…NY Jets: Props to the Jets for remembering their AFL heritage coming out in the Blue & Gold of the Titans. Never forgetting from whence you came is truly admirable. The problem was that the Jets played exactly like the Titans did (Lifetime record of 19-23-0 from ’60-62) in their loss at home to Philly. That’ll probably be the last we’ll ever see of the New York Titans…St. Louis: Admit it, boys, it’s all over for this year. Injuries killed what could’ve been a decent season…Cincinnati: The inmates are now running the asylum and it’s time for a coaching change. There is no character or discipline on that team…Saints: The team saved their season with an impressive win against Seattle and have to keep the ball rolling. Da Bears: They’re done.
