Midweek Matches 9/18:
Roscoe was seriously distressed by the outings of his two European sides (Piacenza & Wrexham) on Tuesday. The Dragons faced Macclesfield at the Racecourse Ground in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Section Round 1 play. The Dragons fell again, this time on a Michael Husbands penalty kick in the 67th. A mere 1,503 patrons attended the match. Wrexham was further hampered in their attempt to score the equalizer by red cards handed out to Llewellyn (71) and Proctor (90).
Meanwhile, Piacenza traveled to Brescia to play the match that was originally scheduled on the ninth, and fell 2-nil, putting biancorossi further behind in Serie B TIM play. Goal scorers for Brescia were Tacchinardi (34) and Possanzini (63). Of great concern to Piacenza was Miglionico’s injury in the first half, as the squad is already missing a number of the first XI. According to news reports, were it not for Cassano in the Piacenza goal, the score may have been much worse. The teams return to their regular schedules on Saturday, and the heat is certainly on to win.
