"A Baseball Man"
In Memoriam

Mike Coolbaugh was a journeyman, a lifer, one of those baseball guys whose lives were marked by endless bus rides chasing a dream. Along the way, he bounced around several major league organizations for more than a decade. Ultimately, he made it to the majors twice for a cup of coffee before once more fading into the obscurity of the minor leagues. Mike was a baseball man. He was killed doing something he loved, the victim of a freak accident. While the undeniably shocking news of his passing will fade, he did have the distinct honor of wearing a Major League uniform and he realized something that millions of boys and young men can only dream about. As a coach, was able to pass his hard-won knowledge to a new generation of players who will hopefully take his experience to heart. We send out our sympathy to his wife, family and friends. Life is short, and life is precious.
