With 65 wins for the year your fearless prognosticator has fallen into fourth place, two games behind the leader of the cbs.sportsline.com crew. Nevertheless it was still a pretty good week. Atlanta, Chicago, St. Louis and Pittsburgh were disappointments…and if by chance I pick the Raiders once more this year, you may, by all means, question my sanity. They were putrid last night, unworthy to be called a National Football League team. Chicago had a big letdown, and as far as the Steelers, Coach Big Balls failed to put Charlie Batch in as QB (Rothlisberger’s just not right physically or mentally) and there were numerous turnovers leading to yet another defeat. The Steelers are toast. I haven’t had a good handle on St. Louis all year, and Atlanta? Well, maybe Vick just is not as good as we’ve been led to believe over the past couple of weeks. Most knowledgeable football folks thought he had turned a corner. We’ll see…Jacksonville will now have a quarterback controversy raging after their 37-7 humiliation of the Titans. The Jags have been "offensively challenged" all year under Leftwich but seem to have discovered a spark with David Garrard. It would be a surprise if the starter were just handed the job back after recovering from injury.

On the plus side, Manning and Indy played just well enough to win. Brady had an awful night and the Patriots are not quite "there", just yet. Indy’s defense did not show that they’re at a Super Bowl Contender level. If these teams meet in January, perhaps the outcome will be different. The G-Men had another nice win, as did San Diego (both winning on the under). Washington was no "upset" winner, in a rivalry game the home team is expected to win. Notwithstanding, it appears as if Tuna may have a "find" in Tony Romo. Barring injury, chances of Bledsoe’s return to the lineup are approximately…nil. The ‘Niners may have dealt the death blow to the Vikings’ post season hopes, but I just did not see the Vikes rebounding quickly from the Monday Night whipping from New England. There were also big wins by New Orleans and Buffalo.

Catch you later on with the Week 10 Projections…
